    Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, whether residential gardens within the curtilage of a domestic property will continue to be classified as brownfield land under proposed planning reforms.

    Answer: The definition of previously developed land is set out in the National Planning Policy Framework. The definition excludes residential gardens in built up areas and we are not proposing to change this.
